The Role:

As the Product Director at Citizen Health, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the product strategy across our patient and partner experiences. You will own the end-to-end product lifecycle, working closely with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, and business development to deliver impactful and scalable products that serve patients, advocacy organizations, caregivers, and healthcare providers. You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team on bringing the vision to life and employing a 0 to 1 mentality in your approach.

This role will drive the integration of cutting-edge technologies, including AI, to enhance the user experience, ensuring that our platform remains at the forefront of healthcare innovation. You are passionate about building consumer experiences and bringing that to a healthcare context.

This is a hands-on role where you will be expected to balance strategic oversight with tactical execution, adapting quickly to the needs of a fast-paced, mission-driven startup.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based out of San Mateo, CA and requires 2-3 days in office.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and own the product strategy, roadmap and associated business outcomes, ensuring alignment with Citizen Health’s mission and overall business goals.
  • Drive novel consumer-grade experiences including incorporating community features, gamification, and delivering a frictionless experience for our users
  • Work closely with the growth marketing team to improve the user experience and grow the number of users on the platform through both direct to consumer channels and b2b2c channels
  • Build from an AI-first perspective and leverage emerging technologies to create differentiated, data-driven healthcare experiences
  • Define, prioritize, and manage the product backlog, ensuring that product decisions are informed by data, research, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Monitor and analyze key product metrics to assess performance and drive continuous improvement, ensuring product-market fit and scalability.
  • Serve as a product evangelist within and outside the organization, representing Citizen Health at industry events and with partners.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing product team as the organization scales, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in product management with a proven track record of launching and scaling successful consumer products. Healthcare experience a bonus but not required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, driving product strategy and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong background in consumer-facing products with experience in healthcare, life sciences, or related fields as a bonus
  • Experience with AI, data-driven product development, and advanced analytics, particularly in healthcare applications.
  • Strong technical background and familiarity with new and traditional technologies. Engineering experience is a big bonus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degrees or certifications in product management, healthcare, or related areas are a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the full product development lifecycle, from discovery to delivery, with a focus on user experience, data, and iterative development.

CA Base Pay Range: $195,000 - $225,000

This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. This position is eligible for commission, stock options and other benefits including but not limited to Medical, Dental, Vision insurance. We also offer unlimited PTO and a paid new parent leave program so you can spend time with your new child.
