The Role

We're seeking a Senior Mobile iOS Engineer to lead the development of our patient-facing iOS application. This role is crucial in creating an intuitive, efficient, and responsive mobile experience that will directly impact our users' ability to manage their health information and participate in groundbreaking research.

As a key technical leader on our mobile team, you'll drive architectural decisions, mentor other engineers, and build a high-performance, scalable, and accessible iOS application that serves our diverse user base of rare disease patients, healthcare providers, and researchers.

Your work will be at the heart of our mission, translating complex health data and research findings into a user-friendly mobile interface that empowers patients, facilitates groundbreaking research, and connects users with vital resources.

This is a hybrid role based out of our office in San Mateo, CA and requires 2-3 days in office.

Responsibilities

  • Develop delightful, high-performance iOS apps using Swift and modern iOS frameworks
  • Design and implement reusable UI components, ensure consistent UX across all our platforms
  • Build with AI - use best-in-class AI tools to accelerate software development
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to prototype intuitive mobile experiences that meet the needs of rare disease patients
  • Implement and maintain robust testing strategies, including unit tests and UI tests, to ensure the reliability of our critical health-related mobile application
  • Contribute to the development of our mobile infrastructure, including build processes, deployment strategies, and development tools

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in iOS development, with a proven track record of launching consumer-facing products
  • Expert-level proficiency in Swift and modern iOS frameworks (e.g., SwiftUI, Combine)
  • Strong understanding of iOS performance optimization techniques, scalability, and security
  • Familiarity with modern build tools, mobile release management, and CI/CD pipelines for iOS development
  • Experience with iOS testing frameworks (e.g., XCTest, Quick/Nimble)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment

California Base Pay Range: $170,000 - $210,000

This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. This position is eligible for stock options and other benefits including but not limited to Medical, Dental, Vision insurance. We also offer unlimited PTO and a paid new parent leave program so you can spend time with your new child.
